The Corvette Anthology 2004 CD-ROM

REVIEWING STAND
BY JAMES MILES

Have you ever wondered what year Corvette
might appear on a Russian stamp or maybe what a right-hand drive ZR-1 looks
like? Do you remember the first C4 commercial to ever appear on television but
had no idea that the "radio-delete" option removed $331 from the overall price
of an ’84? Or maybe you’re one of the few, the proud, the "lucky enough" to own
a Callaway Twin Turbo but had no idea the Corvette Limited Edition Ski Boat that
came equipped with a Callaway 383? These fun facts and much, MUCH more can be
realized by doing little more than sitting down in front of your computer and
installing The Corvette Anthology 2004 CD-ROM by HI-Tech Software.

Available for the Windows operating systems, The
Corvette Anthology 2004 is to computers what the Corvette: Fastest
Fifty Years set is for DVD players. Filled with vast amounts of
Corvette-abilia, such as 18 multimedia movies which include original
commercials and the '53s introduction, Hl-Tech Software has gone that
extra mile to make your experience a pleasant one by shining a little
light on every model year from the beginning to 2004. With just a click of
the mouse, you can get a detailed list of what options were available each
year, a Corvette Identification Guide which will help you identify Vettes
by those little things that separated them from each other, and more
photos than you can shake a roll of film at over 1,800 actually! But
that's hardly scratching the surface. K. Scott Teeters' Illustrated
Corvette Series comes included, as do several pieces of usable clipart.
Your favorite model year is at your fingertips with an easy-to-use menu,
as are the stories about the very people who helped this fine American
sports car take shape from dream to prototype (also included) and into a
reality. My personal
experience with The Corvette Anthology 2004 was a positive one.
While I felt that the "sound effects" were a little unneeded since most of
them were not even Corvette related, the CD-ROM was nothing short of a
homerun, regardless. At worst, I felt that some of the photography needed
reorganization, and a few came off as needing some better lighting and a
re-shoot; this is something most of you wouldn't even notice. I really
have no complaints about The Corvette Anthology 2004 and feel that
this little slice of Corvette heaven will give me hours of informative
enjoyment. So, if you're looking to add to your growing library or need a
gift for the upcoming holidays, The Corvette Anthology 2004 is a
sure thing.
